Wesley Gilbert Etheridge, 77, of Gillisonville, SC, passed away on July 1, 2022. Wesley was born on August 17, 1944, to the late Mr. Percy and Mrs. Stella Williams Etheridge on Johns Island, SC.
Wesley worked for Buck’s Heating and Air. He was a member of the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church and enjoyed cattle farming and fishing. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a big heart and always willing to give to those in need. He never met a stranger and you never had to wonder what he was thinking.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Telie Etheridge and son, Buck Etheridge; two special son’s, Poly Morales and Fred Lightsey (Charlene); a special daughter, Stephanie Horry (Eric); special grandchildren, Eric, Gage, Julie, Cierra, and Alison; one special great granddaughter, Claire; three brothers, Henry Etheridge (Ellen), Bobby Etheridge (Joann); and John “Bubba” Smith; four sisters, Sally Bagby, Gloria Singletary (Tim), Genieve Koon, and Barbara Smith and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 4, 2022, at Sandhill Farms, 10771 Grays Hwy, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Sandhill Farms. Per Wesley’s request, please dress comfortable “No Dress Clothes”.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Jasper County Council on Aging, P.O. Box 641, Ridgeland, SC, 29936.
