Wayne Hills Obituary

Wayne Edward Hills passed peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Newton, Massachusetts on June 26, 1943, Wayne grew up in Needham, MA, the son of Charles and Mildred Hills, in a family full of love, laughter, and friendship.

Wayne was one who embraced life to the fullest. He had an endless circle of friends and loved staying active. Upon graduating from Needham High School Wayne was a member of the US National Guard. He then started working for WIX Corp and retired after many years as vice president of sales. He relished treating his nieces and nephew to summer on Lake Wylie, SC. His life’s passions included collecting and refurbishing cars, staying true to his favorite pets, skydiving and fishing. He had many friends, including those he met through his work with animal rescue, rehabilitation and shelters. Wayne had hoped to develop an elderly dog shelter in Gaston, SC when he was diagnosed with cancer. He was so thankful that his friend Carol was able to adopt his cat Jake. Wayne was so grateful for his friend Russ who helped him work on his endeavors to create his dream shelter, as well as support him throughout fighting his last year’s battle.

Wayne was predeceased by his eldest brother Bruce. He is survived by his brothers, Barry and his wife Tina, Clark; his cherished nieces, Sarah, Alison, Kathryn, and Caitlin; as well as his nephew, Nicolas. He had many happy years in Lake Wylie with his previous wife, Aline, and was predeceased by his wife, Charlyne. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A private service will be held at a later date.
