Floyd Wallace Wise, Jr., 86, of Hardeeville, SC passed away on September 15, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1939, in Savannah, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wallace and Elsie Waters Wise.
Wallace spent his career in the grocery store business. He started at Byrd Brothers as a butcher before transferring to M&M Supermarkets, where he worked his way from butcher to Meat Market Manager, and finally to Store Manager. Later, after M&M was acquired by Kroger Company, he was a store manager for Kroger. He was loved and respected by his
co-workers and stayed close to many of them after retirement.
Wallace loved his family and instilled in them a love of camping, boating and fishing. He would joke about “family fishing” because it usually resulted in a child or grandchild dropping a fishing pole overboard or screaming when a crab got loose in the boat. He spent weekends with his wife and kids boating and fishing in the local rivers and vacationed with them at Mistletoe State Park every summer. He made sure each of his kids could swim and taught them all about fishing, hunting and boating. His kids still reminisce about growing up camping at Mistletoe and have taught their own children to love the outdoors.
Wallace taught his children the value of emotional strength, hard work and love of family and will leave behind a family that loves each other. He has now rejoined his wife of 59 years and grandson in heaven where he is finally at peace.
Survivors: Children, Richard D. Wise (Christy Wells), Sandra W. Renew (Tony), Edward W. Wise; Grandchildren, Nicholas D. Wise, Joshua Wise (Angela), Christian Wise; Step-Granchildren; Megan Renew and Anthony Renew; Great Grandchild Victoria Wise; Brother Robert K. Wise (Janet); multiple nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise Wise and grandson Christopher D. Dixon.
