In Loving Memory of Tommie William Duncan
Tommie William Duncan, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband to Karen Duncan for 45 years, he was the proud father of three daughters: Allison Ledford (Scott), Kelly Wersler (Charles), and Katie McDowell (Paul). Known lovingly as “Pawpaw,” Tommie was a constant source of strength to his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Tommie dedicated many years of his life to SCE&G, where his hard work and steady presence were deeply valued. He found joy in the outdoors—whether casting a line, sitting quietly in a deer stand, or watching birds flutter by from his front porch. As time passed, his love for nature deepened into quiet appreciation. He no longer sought the thrill of the hunt, but instead found peace simply observing the world around him—soaking in the stillness, beauty, and rhythm of the natural world.
He is survived by his brothers, David Duncan (Donna) and Jerry Duncan, and was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Louise Duncan, as well as his brothers Donald Duncan and Neal Duncan.
Tommie’s memory lives on in the lives he touched—with love that endures, stories that will be retold, and the lasting example of a man who led with quiet strength, few words, and strong family traditions.
The family will hold a private gathering at a later date
