Tomian (Malphrus) Cooler

     Tomian Malphrus Cooler, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home in Beaufort, SC.  She was born on February 27, 1953 in Hampton, SC to Paul Max and Shirley Williams Malphrus.

     Tomian loved playing cards with her Momma and was obsessed with Elvis Presley. She volunteered with Battery Creek High School, was the band’s number-one fan and assisted them with the Beaufort Water Festival each year. Mrs. Cooler was an LPN for thirty-two years and employed at Beaufort Jasper Comprehensive Health Services in the pediatrics department. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

     Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Shirley Malphrus; her husband, Owen “Buddy” Cooler; one son, Joey Cooler (Sabrina); two daughters, Nikki Gotcher (Dennis) and Heather “Poopy Ruby” Bailey (Jason); two brothers, Paul Malphrus, Jr. (Diane) and Robin Malphrus (Ann); two sisters, Paulette Jones (Robin) and Cathy Malphrus; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Tomian was predeceased by her father and one grandchild.

     A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Vaigneur Funeral Home Chapel, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC.  The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM, until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Sardis Cemetery in Ridgeland, SC.
