Mrs. Tina Ann (Tumey) Johnson, 73, of Hardeeville, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born in Milwaukee, WI. on March 30, 1952 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald and Susan Brucker Tumey.
Tina lived her life with an open heart, always taking care of others first and making sure everyone around her felt welcomed, nourished, and loved. Loving, nurturing, giving, and endlessly caring, she had a rare gift for making people feel at home—often over a lovingly prepared meal. A true food connoisseur, she delighted in cooking and enjoying almost everything the culinary world had to offer.
She loved the simple joys of life just as much as the grand ones. The beach was her happy place, and travel was her way of embracing the world. She had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for new experiences, new places, and especially new people. Strangers were naturally drawn to her; it wasn’t uncommon for someone she had just met to share their life story, instantly feeling her warmth and genuine interest. People just didn’t enjoy meeting her—they felt seen by her.
Music filled her soul, particularly live music and performances of all kinds. She loved to laugh, finding joy in comedies, and her laughter was contagious. Whether enjoying a show, sharing a meal, or cheering on the Green Bay Packers, she embraced each moment with enthusiasm and heart.
Cooking was the way she showed her love. Everyone who met her has a favorite dish she made. Every one of her grandchildren loved her chocolate malts. Friends and family enjoyed her spaghetti and meatballs and many other meals. No one left Tina’s house hungry.
Her legacy is one of kindness, connection, and joy. She leaves behind countless memories, full hearts, and stories that will be told with smiles and laughter for years to come. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Tina found peace in her faith and her belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a source of comfort and assurance that carried her through every season of life.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom Johnson, sons: Nate Kubenik (Sarah), Ryan Kubenik (Lisa), daughter, Courtney Mox (Troy), brother, Tony Tumey, sister, Wanda Owczarzak (Rex), sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and her nephews.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in the spring in Wisconsin.
The family requests memorial donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
