William Avery “Tiger” Tuten, 81, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. He was born on January 11, 1939, in Sardis, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Cordie Mae Sikes Tuten.
Mr. Tuten served in the South Carolina National Guard and retired with 25 years of service, as a Master Sergeant. He worked for Joe Harden Builders on Hilton Head Island as a construction superintendent, was a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church, the Anglers Sunday School Class, and Masonic Lodge 98 in Ridgeland, SC. “Tiger” was known for his sense of humor and was a friend to everyone. He was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his long-time canine friend “Abigail”.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Tuten, two sons, Avery Tuten (Valerie), Bobby Tuten (Lynda), three grandchildren, Victoria, Savannah, Alexis Tuten, one brother, Johnny Tuten, one sister, Linda Mears and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936.
Funeral service will be graveside on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Wynn Cemetery on Lowndes Lake Road in Hampton County.
All those attending the visitation and funeral service are asked to practice CDC social distancing, and face covering guidelines.
