Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas VanSteenbergh announce his passing on February 17, 2023.
Thomas passed away peacefully in his Ridgeland, SC home, with his loving wife at his side.
Thomas was born and raised in New Jersey. Born on September 15, 1940, in Teaneck, he was the son of Howard and Rosemary Moran VanSteenbergh. He served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He attended Cooper Union Art School in New York City, and worked as an art director in advertising for over forty years. After retiring to South Carolina, Thomas was an active member of the Beaufort Art Association.
Thomas was well loved by his family and friends. Thomas leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Lynn; children, John (Susan) VanSteenbergh, Karen (John) Ryan, and Eric VanSteenbergh; grandchildren: Haley and Sean VanSteenbergh, and John Ryan III; and his sister Joan Carroll.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Beaufort Art Association, in Beaufort, South Carolina.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
