Thomas Tyler, Sr.

     Thomas Howard Tyler, 58, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1963, in Charleston, WV to Mr. and Mrs. Jerald and Myna Tyler.

     Thomas opened his heart and home to many children, and never met a stranger. He was a firefighter with several fire departments and retired after thirty years of service from Hilton Head Island Fire and Rescue in Hilton Head Island, SC. Thomas loved working, and even after retiring, he held many jobs. He was a devoted member of Red Dam Baptist Church (Euhaw Campus) and an avid outdoorsman.

     Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jerald and Myna Tyler; his wife, Michelle Tyler; one son, Thomas Tyler, Jr., one daughter, Hailey Tyler; one brother, Jonathan Tyler (Missy); one sister, Alegra Tyler (Bill Hodgdon), and a host of nieces and nephews.

     Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Rd., Hardeeville, SC 29927. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Ridgeland Cemetery, Ingram St., in Ridgeland, SC.
