John Stanley Stones, 65, of Ridgeland SC, passed away on December 25, 2023. He was born on December 31, 1957, in Anderson SC, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Frances Barrett Stones.
Mr. Stones was a retired minister. During his ministry he pastored for Pinecrest Baptist Church, Black Branch Baptist Church, Euhaw Baptist Church, and Indian Hill Baptist Church. He also served as the chaplain for the Southern Heritage Foundation and for the Sons of the Confederacy. His family was very important to him, and he had a fierce love for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Stan also loved his Lord and Savior very much. His entire life was devoted to Jesus Christ and guiding others to become followers of the Lord. The Atlanta Braves was his favorite team to watch, and he was a fan since his childhood.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rhonda Stones, children: Joshua Stones (Rachel), John-Taylor Stones (Mariana), Jessica Stokes (LT. COL. Michael), Lawson Schmidt (David), sister, Pam Crowe (Julian), and eleven grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 10:00 am at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland SC 29936. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland SC. Burial will follow the service in Grahamville Cemetery.
