Roy Alan Derhammer, 71, of Savannah, GA passed away on May 9, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah.
He was born on October 21, 1954, in Cleveland, OH to the late Mr. & Mrs. Jack and Rose Derhammer.
Roy joined the Air Force in 1973 and was released in 1983 with an honorable discharge as a TSGT. He then began his employment with Gulfstream Aerospace at General Dynamics where he retired as a senior inspector with over 30 years of service.
In Roy’s lifetime he wore many hats. He was the Past Master of Solomon Lodge #1 F&AM, Past Master of Roger Lacey Lodge, was a working member of Scottish Rite, and a past member of the Pirates with Alee Shrine. Roy was a loving husband and father. His love for family, church and country was shown through his service both in the Air Force and at Hope Baptist Church in Savannah GA.
Mr. Derhammer is survived by his wife, Brenda Derhammer, children: Tonya DuBose (David), Tina Johnson (Phil), grandchildren: Krista DuBose, Rose Johnson, Tiffany DuBose, Alan Johnson, sisters, Jo Montgomery, and sister-in-law Fern Self.
