Robert Eugene Edwards

Robert Eugene Edwards, 89, passed away January 13, 2021 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC from complications of COVID-19.  Robert was born on June 16, 1931 in Red Springs, NC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Elbert and Ara Lee Buchanan Edwards.

Mr. Edwards retired from civil service with the U.S. Air Force.  He was very active in his Masonic Lodge and was The Past Grand Master in three different lodges.  He loved playing golf, playing cards, and reading novels.  While serving his country in the military, he traveled the world and visited all seven continents.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Virginia Lee Watson (Jeff) and Debbie Person (BJ); one stepdaughter, Mary Anne Long; seven granddaughters, Leslie Ehlers (Benji), Jami Chambers, Holly Harwood (Ian), Sara Long, Jillian Rivera (David), Rebecca Manzella (Johnny), Lindsey Russell (Taylor); and seven great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Pamela Mumford Edwards, and one son, Robert Edwards, Jr.

Funeral services and burial at Beaufort National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
