Retired Lieutenant Colonel Richard Edward Maresco, 85, of Bluffton SC, passed away on December 25, 2023. He was born on October 16, 1938, in Suffern NY, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Alice O’Hara Maresco.
Lt. Col. Maresco retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1981 after 20 years of serving his country proudly and honorably. He was a member of Okatee Baptist Church and was proud to be called a Child of God. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he embarked on his second career and became the Executive Vice President for the Associated Builders and Contractors. When he retired from ABC, he began spending more time playing softball, pickleball, and fishing. However, his greatest love was for his family and especially his grandchildren. He did not know what a stranger was and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Norma Maresco, son-in-law, Tony Roberts (Laura), grandchildren: Tyler Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Brian Maresco, and Conner Maresco. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Maresco, and his daughter, Kelly Roberts.
A private service will be held at the Beaufort National Cemetery, in Beaufort SC, at a later date
