Randy Floyd Obituary

Randy Webb Floyd of Tillman, age 70, on July 12, 2025, after a courageous battle against colon cancer; passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loyal canine companion. He was born August 29, 1954 to Webb Moran Floyd and Claire Smith Floyd in Savannah, Ga.

Randy grew up in the small, loving, rural community of Tillman, SC and resided within the local areas of Beaufort and Jasper Counties for the duration of his life. He was a proud “Farmer’s Son”, as he would say, in reference to his late father and his father’s contributions to the farming community and ownership of Floyd Brother’s corner store in Tillman.

He married Mary Coburn of Hardeeville on April 4, 1981. After years of boat racing, soft ball tournaments, boat trips, sand bar days, and laughs together; they welcomed their daughter, Paige Noel Floyd, into the world on January 2, 1992. He was a devoted, loving husband and a doting father. After 27 years of service to UPS, he couldn’t actually “retire” and instead became an entrepreneur at 58 years old. His success in life he attributed to God, his strong upbringing, his ability with mathematics (those who know him will understand this sentiment), his love and devotion to provide for his family, and all the help he had along the way from his friends. He believed in the beauty of community and helping his fellow man. He would anonymously donate and give any chance he could because he viewed it as his way to share all the success God gave him in his life. He was an avid boater and motorcyclist, traveling near and far by both water and open highways. His most cherished possessions were all the memories made with his family and the friends who became family. To say he lived an extraordinary life is an understatement and there are no amount of words to be written that could truly encompass it to the fullest extent.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife - Mary Coburn Floyd, daughter - Paige Noel Floyd, sister - Gail Eppinette of Walterboro, loyal canine companion - Ruger, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who became family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Beaufort County Animal Shelter, Saint Jude’s Children's Hospital, The Shriners, or any land preserve, state park, or national park of choice.

Family, friends, and anyone who knew and loved him are invited to join the family for a casual visitation at Vaigneur Funeral Home, Ridgeland, SC on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm, to reminisce, grieve, support one another, and of course chat, because that part was always his favorite thing to do. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.
