Randall “Randy” Franklin Altman, 62, of Okatie, SC, passed away on February 3, 2022. He was born on August 13, 1959, in Beaufort, SC, to Mr. Franklin and Mrs. Evonne Graves Altman.
Randy owned Altman Services and remodeled homes throughout the Lowcountry. An avid fisherman he spent countless hours in the river with his family and friends and enjoyed entertaining on the family dock. He was thought of as the Greatest Boat Captain on the River by his great grandchildren. Randy was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Cofounding the Boy Scouts of America Troop 213 of Bluffton, SC, he was awarded the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow in 2008. Mentoring hundreds of young men during his tenure in the boy scouts, he saw 26 of those rise to Eagle Scout status. He was a distinguished volunteer for the Coastal Carolina Council Lowcountry District.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Evonne G. Altman; wife, Angela L. Hutchinson; daughters, Michelle Analla (Kent), Melissa Fender; grandchildren, Jordan Williams (Cecilia), Brendan Analla, Ethan Fender, Aubrey Fender; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Nicholas and Amelia Williams and niece, Lindsay Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Altman and sister, Tamra Campbell.
A funeral service will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3080 Okatie Highway, Okatie, SC, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of service at the cemetery.
