Peter Sidley Nelson, Jr.

Peter Sidley Nelson, Jr. 88, of Ridgeland SC passed away on October 23, 2022.  He was born in Oakley Idaho on April 15, 1934, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter and Zella Simmons Nelson.

Mr. Nelson was an electrical engineer and enjoyed woodworking.  He made beautiful furniture, and you can find some still in his home.  You would find him fishing, crabbing, or tending to his flowers in his spare time.  He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: John Nelson (Franci), Mitchell Jones (Debbie), Larry Tessier (Cindy), James Nelson, daughters: Patricia Sorensen (Craig), Rose Marie Pearce (John), Judy Deloach (William), Linda Sikes, Tiffany Garzzillo (Robert), grandchildren: Jeffery, Krissy, Christopher, Sarah, Josh, Trish, Jenny, Ashley, Jeffery, Roger, Miley, Alexas, great-grandchildren: Chase, Bethany, Jessica, Abigail, Kaitlynn, Emily, Dixie, Justin, Kyle, Logan, Addi, Ali, Emma, several great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, whom he loved very much, Mrs. Doris Nelson, son, Peter Nelson, III, and sister, Norma Lou Wipple.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 27, 2022 at 5:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 917 Grays Highway, Ridgeland SC 29936.
