Oscar Lorenzo Rivera

Oscar Lorenzo Rivera, 69, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on December 23, 2019 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Rivera was born on June 29, 1950 in San Antonio, Chile to the late Oscar and Lucille Rivera.

Mr. Rivera served as a Merchant Marine for 13 years and later worked as an auto mechanic for Modern Classic Motors for over 20 years.  He loved animals and was especially fond of cats. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and loved life in general.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Malphrus Rivera; one son, Gary Smith (Marie); two daughters, Pam Stanley (Fred) and Deborah Westbrook; two brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Rd., Ridgeland, SC.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
