With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Misty, who went home on April 27, 2026, at her home in Hardeeville, surrounded by her family and a few close friends.
Misty was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She had a kind and selfless heart. She was “Mimi” to so many children she cared for throughout the years, and she loved each of them dearly.
She loved country music and going to concerts. She proudly held—and will always hold—the title of Jake Owen’s greatest fan, a role she embraced with joy and enthusiasm.
Misty was preceded in death by her mother, Glenda Stodghill. She is survived by her father, Mike Stodghill; her sister, Michelle; and her nieces, Tori and Brooklynn; her brother, Michael (Heather), and her nephews, Chase, Ben, and Sam; as well as her honorary sister, Katie. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Misty’s life will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Maye River Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service, with burial following at Bluffton Cemetery.
