Melissa Elizabeth (Heger) Smeraldi

   Melissa Elizabeth Heger Smeraldi, 49, of Okatie SC, passed away on September 29, 2022.  She was born in Poughkeepsie NY., to Mr. Stewart Heger and Mrs. Theresa Kelly Callahan. 

   Melissa worked at Maye River High School as a special education teachers aid.  She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother who was totally devoted to her family.  She enjoyed shopping for the best bargain available and always seemed to find what she wanted.  For those who knew her, knew she was strong willed, but always was able to make her point in a funny way, with her good sense of humor.

   Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Mark Smeraldi, her son, Anthony Smeraldi, her daughter, Marissa Smeraldi, her father, Stewart Heger (Debbie), her mother, Theresa Callahan (Tim), her brother, Sean Callahan (Kelly), her sisters, Nicole Callahan (Jim Davis), Devin Callahan, her nephew, John DeSenso, III, and her niece, Alice Callahan.

   The family will celebrate her life with a service at a later date.
