Matt Semken

John Mathias "Matt" Semken, 61, of Hardeeville SC passed away on January 21, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah GA, from a non COVID related illness.  He was born on July 27, 1960 in Charleston SC to the late Mr. John Semken, Jr., and the late Ms. Annette Cleland.

Matt owned and operated Bluffton Glass for many years.  He loved music, enjoyed taking care of animals, and getting behind the wheel of a fast car.  His family was very important to him, and it showed through his love to them as a brother, husband, father, uncle and friend.  Most of all he loved a good joke.  

Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soul mate of 42 years, Trish Semken, his son, Matthew Semken, his daughter, Christina O'Quinn, his brother, Barry Semken (Donna), his sister, Carol Fickling (Allison Jr.), his mother-in-law, Yoko Polston and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his dad, "Rabbit" Cleland.

Memorial donations may be made, in Matt's honor, to your local animal rescue or shelter.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Grahamville Cemetery, Smiths Crossing, Ridgeland, SC. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 am until the hour of the service in the cemetery.
