Mary Lynn VanSteenbergh

     It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Lynn Kenny VanSteenbergh announce her passing on November 3, 2025.  Mary Lynn passed away in her home, surrounded with love, in Ridgeland, South Carolina, with her children present.

     Mary Lynn was born on June 30, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was later raised in Teaneck, New Jersey.  Mary Lynn was the daughter of Jack and Maurine (Durfee) Kenny.  She graduated from William Patterson College and worked as a homemaker and various occupations, where she was appreciated for her work ethic and sparkling wit.  Mary Lynn had many passions, including animals, specifically elephants, birds, dogs, and cats. 

     She and her husband, Thomas later retired to live in South Carolina.  Mary Lynn and Thomas enjoyed their time in South Carolina, and were surrounded by their many caring neighbors, whom they loved deeply.

     Mary Lynn leaves behind her children; John (Susan) VanSteenbergh, Karen (John) Ryan, and Eric VanSteenbergh; grandchildren; Haley and Sean VanSteenbergh, and John Ryan III.  She also leaves behind her sisters; Kathleen Clare Hirsh, Maurine Kenny, Laurel Ann Kenny, Margo Kenny Varian, Debbie Kenny, and Denise Kastner Kenny Jones.

     Memorial services will be held at a later date.
