Lynn Livingston Smith III

     Lynn Smith, 78, of Cottageville, SC passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC.  He was born on April 1, 1940 in Savannah, GA to the late Lynn L. and Lena Anderson Smith, Jr.

     Mr. Smith was a retired home builder and a general contractor.  He became a well-known contractor on Hilton Head Island and in Beaufort County in the 70’s, building many homes on the fast-growing island.  He was an avid horseman, a true cowboy at heart.  He shared this love of horses with his daughter, Cindy.  Lynn was a member of the Elk Lodge in Walterboro.

          He was surrounded by many friends at the time of his passing and will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Lynn was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

     Left to cherish his memory are one son, Beau (Mendy) Smith; three daughters, Cindy (David) Smith, Melynda Smith and Kim (Kate) Smith; two step sons, Troy Brown and Scott Brown; two brothers, Gene Smith and Joe Smith; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Martha Smith.  Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl, and one daughter, Teri Smith Nettles.

            A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 3 pm - 5 pm at Elk Lodge #1988, 236 Milestone Lane, Walterboro, SC 29488.  Casual attire is requested.
