Leslie Cox Obituary

Sadly, our beloved, Leslie Irene Cox, 69, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away on February 5th, 2025 after battling leukemia. Leslie was born on March 16th, 1955 in Murray, Utah.  After graduating from high school in Orlando, Florida in 1973 she went on to study accounting. During her working years, she was employed in various financial roles. In 2001 she met Richard Cox and they wed in 2004.

Leslie is survived by her devoted husband, Richard, adoring children, sons Greg, Robert (Allison), daughter Lorraina (David), brother Jimmy (Sandy), awesome bonus children, Rhonda (Joe), Renee, Richard (Ann). She was a doting "Grammy" to many grandchildren: Jonathan, Austin, Landon, Coby, Valarie, Elsa, William, Harper, Hayden, Corrin, Keith, Kevin,  three great grandchildren: Melody, Braydon, and Chase. Leslie also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives, including aunt, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She was predeceased by her father Walter, mother Patsy, brother Jeffrey,  sister Sandy and former spouse George.

Leslie had a beautiful light that emanated from her through her actions and intentions. She had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was inspirational, courageous, kind, loving, compassionate, and full of joy. She was strong and devoted in her faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She found joy in pursuit of hobbies that included but not limited to:  genealogy research, reading and crafting. However, her greatest joys and accomplishments in life were the love of her husband, the gift of being a Mom and Grammy and her love of the Lord, Jesus Christ. She lived her life with strength and steadfastness, despite her many challenges.

Two events will honor Leslie's life:

Here are the words of one her favorite hymns: Sweet Hour of Prayer

Sweet Hour of Prayer
Peacefully

1.Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

2.Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
Believe his word, and trust his grace,
I’ll cast on him my ev’ry care
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
I’ll cast on him my ev’ry care
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
