Kraig Blatchley Jr

     Kraig Daniel Blatchley, Jr., 37, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1988, in Beaufort, South Carolina, to Tammie Hadwin & Kraig Blatchley and was lovingly raised by Robbie and Tammie Bunton.

     Kraig attended Thomas Heyward Academy in Ridgeland, where he built many lifelong friendships and developed the strong work ethic that would shape the rest of his life. He enjoyed spending lots of his free time with his family and traveling the roads. From a young age, Kraig worked alongside his father at the family business, Bunton Construction Company, where he learned to operate heavy equipment and developed a deep appreciation for hard work and life outdoors. He had a natural talent for operating machinery and loved being behind the controls of anything powerful enough to move dirt, clear land, or build something from the ground up.

     Kraig also discovered a passion for engines and mechanics while working at the family business, GJ’s Cars. He loved anything with a motor from cars and trucks to heavy equipment and could often be found working on, talking about, or helping someone repair a vehicle. His knowledge and love for all things mechanical became a big part of who he was.

     Later in life, Kraig found his calling in the towing industry and began working with A-1 Towing after the family acquired the business many years ago. Kraig played a major role in the growth and success of the company, personally overseeing the expansion of the towing division into Beaufort and Yemassee. He was deeply involved in every aspect of the business, including wrecker training, accident scene safety, fleet management, and daily operations. Kraig also helped recruit employees, drawing on the many relationships he built throughout his life in Jasper County. His leadership, dedication, and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on the company and the people who worked alongside him.

     Most recently, Kraig proudly started his own business, A1 Clearing, Grading and Recovery, combining his love for heavy equipment, hard work, and helping others. He took great pride in building something of his own and was excited about the future he was creating.

     Outside of work, Kraig loved the outdoors, being with his family/fur babies, traveling, and he enjoyed spending time around trucks & equipment. He had a larger-than-life personality, a big heart, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his loyalty to his family and friends, his dedication to his work, and the many friendships he built throughout his life.

     Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Nina Allen; his mother, Tammie Hadwin Davids (Bobby); his father, Robbie Bunton (Lena); his sisters, Victoria Paige Bunton (Shane Fox); Chelsea Michaela Bunton (Caleb Tufts); Brianna Blatchley; his bonus sisters Casey Stotts & Addie Davids; his brother, Chase Hadwin Davids; bonus brother, Logan Thomas; his nieces, Kinsley Richards, Noelle Stotts, Magnolia Tufts, Maci Fox, Adam Erickson and Aubrey Fox; his grandmother, Barbara Blatchley; and his two beloved fur babies, Patches and Hazel.

     A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC.
