Kenny Hay

Kenneth Wyatt Hay ,59, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was born on January 4, 1964, in Savannah, GA to Mr. Roy Melvin Hay and the late Mrs. Sara Mathis Hay.

Kenny felt the calling to become a minister and began serving his Lord in 1994 and until his retirement in 2020.  During his ministry he served as senior pastor in several churches and had the honor of starting one church.  The church, he and his family started, is still serving the Lord today.  He also served as a hospice chaplain for eight years.  For him, serving as a hospice chaplain was the pinnacle of his career.  His patients were important to him, and he wanted the best for each of them.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, but most of all, he was a friend to everyone.  Kenny loved his family very much and adored his grandchildren.  Being outdoors was his escape from the stress of life; and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. In addition to being outdoors he and his family enjoyed camping and coming home with the many stories and adventures of being on vacation with their camping buddies, the Popes.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Natalie Hay, son, Landon Hay (Kaitlyn), daughter, Ashton Hay, father, Roy Hay, grandchildren; Aubrey Hay, Parker Hay, brother-in-law, Jason Malphrus (Kara), sister-in-law, Anita Hay, two very special friends, Joyce and Earl Pope, and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers: Danny and Wayne Hay and one sister, Martha Eddney.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 25, 2023, at 11:00am at, Great Swamp Baptist Church, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936.  The family will receive guests from 10:00 until the hour of service at the church.
