Joyce Webster Price

Joyce Webster Price, 86, passed away on September 5, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Ridgeland, SC on August 31, 1937, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. and Ida Lee Cleland..

Mrs. Joyce was a member of Gillisonville Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ for over 70 years.  God gave her the ability to play the piano by ear at an early age. She worked at Ridgeland Hospital after obtaining her nursing degree from Beaufort Technical College. She was also given the gift of being a caregiver to family, friends and even strangers, and enjoyed being in the river when she could.  Mrs. Joyce never met a stranger.  Her home was always open to the neighborhood kids.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and she adored all her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jimmy Price, sons; Allen Webster (Ann), Joey Webster (Regina), Kevin Webster (Marilyn) and a bonus son, Shane Pitre (Darlene), and  daughter, Bonnie Lawson (Ray), grandchildren; Emily Freeman (Dean), Jessie Webster, Warren Smith (Melissa) Kaitlin Rentz (Lee), Joshua Webster, Tyler Pitre (Katie), and Tess Fowler (Forrest), greatgrandchildren; Harper Smith and Carson Rentz, brother Gene Cleland (Tommie Jean).  She was predeceased by her first husband, Edgar Webster, and a sister, Alene Cleland Harvey.

The family requests guests to wear bright colors to honor Joyce’s bright personality and love for all things colorful.

Funeral services will be held at Gillisonville Baptist Church, 10158 Grays Highway, Ridgeland, SC on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. The family will receive guests from 4:00 until the hour of service at the church.
