Joyce Garbade

Ms. Joyce Scoggins Garbade, 71, of Tillman SC, passed away on February 15, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She was born on October 31, 1953, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve and Inez Sauls Scoggins.

Joyce, along with her late husband Coy, owned and operated Timber Products Inc. of Tillman.  She loved Christmas.  Her house was the epitome of the Christmas spirit, with no less than 6 trees every year.  She made Christmas a special time.  Joyce loved animals and it showed around her home.  She had two puppies she adored but it didn’t stop there.  Her yard was always inviting to the wildlife that ventured into the fence, from her bird feeders to feeding squirrels. No one was allowed to cut her grass but her.  It was her way of relaxing and making sure it was done to her satisfaction.  Each morning, she would take her daily trip to Wendy’s for her morning tea and then to McDonalds for her afternoon Diet Coke, when she picked Laci up from School. Joyce loved her family with all her heart and will be missed by everyone.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Sandi Perry, Shelley Mims, grandchildren: Jacob Johnson, Laci Johnson, Codie Mims, Katelyn Mims, Collin Mims, brothers: Gene Scoggins (Pat), Tommy Scoggins (Diaz), George Scoggins (Deb), Buster Scoggins (Brenda) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 20, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland SC 29936.  The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am till the hour of service at the funeral home.  The burial will follow in the Tillman United Methodist Church Cemetery, Tillman SC.

Memorial Donations may be made, in her honor, to Gillisonville Baptist Church, Building Fund, 10158 Grays Highway, Ridgeland SC 29936.
