John Hampton Hewlett, Jr of Garnett, SC formerly of Estill, SC transitioned to his heavenly home Friday, July 8, 2022, from an extended illness. “Johnny” was born in Ellenton, SC on September 22, 1948. He was the son of the late John Hampton Hewlett, Sr and Ivy Kinard Hewlett of Allendale.
He served in the National Guard Army in Ridgeland. Johnny was employed by Helena Chemical until he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah Brower Hewlett; one daughter, Julie Hewlett Whatley (Ben) of Lexington; one son, John Hampton “Trey” Hewlett III (Kandi) of Beaufort; five grandchildren, John Hampton Hewlett IV, Lawson Hewlett, Haley Stanley, Turner Whatley, Mary Katherine Whatley; one sister, Camille Wyman; one niece, Nancy Wyman Clemens; and one nephew, Ed Wyman.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
