Joe Walters

Joseph Cortland Walters, IV, 74, of Ridgeland SC, passed away on September 6, 2024.  He was born on January 22, 1950, in Ridgeland SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Glondell Malphrus Walters, III.

Joe worked in Civil Construction as a superintendent, building roads, golf courses, and neighborhood development.  He had the opportunity to develop projects in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean.  Given the pride he had in his work, he enjoyed telling his family of the different projects he had the pleasure of completing.  When he wasn’t working, his time was spent with his family, which he loved very much, and cheering on his favorite college football team, the Clemson Tigers.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Stephanie Williams (James), Shaun Morgan (Daniel), Courtney Robertson (Wayne), sister, Kathy Langford (Leon), brother, Buck Roberts (Sue), seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland SC with burial to follow in Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland SC.  The family will receive guests on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
