Jessie Malory, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Jessie Willard Malory, Jr., 80, of Hardeeville, SC went home to be with Jesus, February 10, 2026. He was born April 20, 1945, in Merritt Island, FL, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie and Marie Mathis Malory.

Jess graduated from Cocoa High School in Rockledge, FL and attended Brevard Junior College in Cocoa, FL prior to enlisting in the Army for a tour in Vietnam.  Upon his return from Vietnam, he worked for Coca Cola Bottling Company.  His latest career for over 36 years was with the KSC Logistics Facility/United Space Alliance supporting the United States Space Program.

One of his greatest joys was reading and studying American History.  He found deep meaning in learning about every war the nation had endured, not just the battles themselves, but the people and sacrifices behind them.  Equally close to his heart was his lifelong interest in Native American history and culture. Through his love of learning, he honored the past and the stories that shaped it.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Theresa Malory; sisters, Frances Davidson (Tom), Priscilla Payton (Gary); nephews, Phillip Davidson (Christa), Jason Davidson (Melanie); nieces, Jody Arelt, Anita Jackson (Stephen); great nephews, Brian Arelt (Esther), Zachary Arelt (Maddie), Jonathan Arelt (Ashley), Elijah Arelt (Kylie), Elijah Jackson, Caeden Jackson, Levi Jackson, Knox Jackson; great nieces, Kimberly Warren (Nick), Abby Nussbaum (Chris), Elizabeth Arelt, Victoria Arelt, Claire Davidson; great-great nephews, Gabe Warren, Henry Warren, Maverick Nussbaum, Milo Nussbaum, Asher Nussbaum; and great-great niece, Charley Jean Arelt.

Jess loved his Lord, and prior to his health issues, he drove the church bus each Sunday, picking up children as well as seniors for church.  Psalm 23 was among his favorite scriptures, along with Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Jess’s family would like to thank the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC, for the care, compassion and respect that each employee shows to their residents.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.
