Jerry David Simmons

Jerry Simmons, 77, of Grays, SC passed away on April 29, 2024, in Savannah GA, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan and loved anything to do with racing, hence the name of his store he owned in Grays for many years, “Jerry’s Pitstop”.  He was a good, Christian man that had a big heart, especially for those who were less fortunate or didn’t have family or friends to visit them.

He was a loving husband, father, and “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly and would do anything they asked of him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Peggy Simmons, son; Jeremy Simmons (Amanda), daughter; Wanda McDaniel, stepson; John Quincy, grandchildren; Reagan, Riley, Reeve and Rebecca, step-grandchildren; Christopher, Austin, sisters; Mamie Lou Phillips, and Annie Mae Walls.

A funeral service will be held at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 11:00am. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home until the hour of service. Burial will follow in Wynn Cemetery, Lowndes Lake Road.
