James Robert Lewis Brown (Jamie), 46, of Hardeeville, SC, passed away on August 14, 2025. He was born on January 12, 1979, in Lexington, SC.
Jamie was a career firefighter and owned JGB Roofing. He began his fire career as a volunteer in Hardeeville before being hired by Levy Fire Department. His career spanned employment with Daufuskie and ended on Hilton Head Island. He also obtained Paramedic Certification. He left the fire service after 22 years to pursue self-employment. He loved hunting, fishing, short track racing, and pretty much anything outdoors.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Horton (Bill); daughters, Mia Brown (Gisselle) and Jaqueline (Claudia); sisters, Nikki Cannon (TR) and Heather Berkey (Matt); nieces and nephews, Hannah Cannon (Kylie), Therion Cannon (Kenzie), Danica Berkey, and Adelyn Berkey.
He was predeceased by his father, James C. Brown; Grandparents Hardy and Hazel Youmans, Woodrow and Louise Brown, Robert and Amy Smith, and Willock Horton.
Jamie’s family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
