George W. Herdman, 79, of Hampton, SC, passed away Sept. 12th at home surrounded by family. George is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Sandy Herdman of Hampton, SC; his children: Steve Herdman and his wife Maura of Northboro, MA; Scott Herdman and wife Glaiz of Northboro, MA; Kim Donahue of Hampton, SC; Joanne Antobendetto and her husband David of Bellingham, MA; Joseph Silvestro and his partner Kara of Holliston, MA; Ryan Donahue and his wife Chrissy of Holliston, MA; 10 grandchildren; his sisters: Mary Evelyn Gregor of ME, Judy Dunn of ME, and Peggy Michalski of MO; He was pre-deceased by his parents Carl and Stella Mae Herdman; his brother John Herdman of NJ, and his ex-wife Louise Herdman of Northboro, MA.
George was born August 4th, 1942 in Somerville, NJ. He spent his early childhood in Somerville before moving to Framingham, MA. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1960 where he was a proud guard on the football team. George is an honored veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps., Semper Fi, and was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 77 in Ashland, MA. He was a career Printer. He and his first wife raised their two boys in Holliston, MA. He and his wife Sandy spent 30 years living in Ashland, MA, Bellingham, MA, and Hampton, SC.
George loved his family, the U. S. Marine Corps, trips to the casino, American Legion Post 77, and the New England Patriots.
Funeral services will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC at a later date.
