Genie Lowther Tillotson

Vivian Gene Tillotson, 81, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on December 28, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 13, 1940 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Mr. Charles Eugene and Mrs. Vivian Saxon Lowther.

Mrs. Tillotson, commonly called Genie, was the epitome of selfless service and love within her family and in the community. She and her husband, Jerry, owned the local Ridgeland restaurant “Mr. T’s” and other businesses in the area. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to many church callings and responsibilities, she and her husband honorably served three church missions (Orlando, FL Temple, Portland, OR, and Omaha, NE).

She is survived by her husband Gerald Christopher Tillotson, Sr (Jerry); four children, Gerald Christopher Tillotson, Jr (Melody), Patrick Tillotson (Suzanne), Angela Holderness (Darin), Carla Lovell (Michael); seventeen grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 917 Grays Highway, Ridgeland SC 29936.  The family will receive friends in the relief society room from 2:00 pm until the hour of service.  Burial will follow the service in Ridgeland Cemetery, Ingram St. and Hagin Dr. Ridgeland SC.
