Gene Dotson

Odis Gene Dotson, 77, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1945, in Williamson, WV to the late Mr. and Mrs. William George Dotson  and Rosie Ella McCoy Dotson.

Mr. Dotson served  in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. While in the Marine Corps he was a member of the Silent Drill Team and  a member of the Presidential Security Team at Camp David. After his service in the US Marine Corps, Gene made a career as salesman. He was a Freemason, a Shriner, and in his time off from work enjoyed being with his second family at Schooner’s.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie Dotson; daughter, Sommer Main (Kraig Wilson); and three grandchildren, Ryker Williams, Draven  Williams, and Khole Wilson. He was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10: 00 am, on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, in Beaufort, SC.
