Dorothy May Cole, 95, of Okatie SC, passed away on September 1, 2022. She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady and Annie Antio Rinks. On July 24, 1927, in Benton Harbor MI.
Ms. Dorothy worked in health care for many years as a nursing assistance. She was a strong independent woman and single mother, who worked several jobs at once, to provide for her five children, so she wouldn’t have to accept assistance to care for her family. Always the conservationist, she taught her children to care for nature by never taking but giving; so those who came after them would have something to enjoy. On their walks she and her children would pick up trash so they could learn the value of caring. A teacher at heart, and an accomplished artist, she enjoyed sharing her knowledge, and her love for gardening. She had a deep abiding faith in God and journaled her walk with the Lord.
Left to cherish her memory, are two sons, Jonathan Cole (Connie), Jack Cole, Jr., three daughters, Julie Hall (Larry), Jeanne Cole, Joni Gerth (Jeff), eight grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
