Mr. Donald Alfred Cooler, 82, of Hardeeville SC, passed away on December 15, 2025, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on October 4, 1943, in Ridgeland SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. James and Edith Woods Cooler.
Mr. Donald retired from Union Camp Corporation as a dozer operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. His family was very important to him, and he loved each of them very much, but his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He loved his church and was very active throughout his life, serving as a deacon, working with the youth program, and serving many years on the cemetery committee. After retirement, not being one to sit on the sideline, he volunteered for the Hardeeville Fire Department and helped on the ambulance as well. He also was a life-time member of the Marine Rescue Squadron in Hardeeville.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, June Cooler, son, Jimmy Cooler, daughter, Ginger Moore (Shannon), grandchildren: Kaitlyn Cooler, Josh Thompson, Morgan Padgett (Jacob), Breanna Brendlen (Johnny), Abby Fogle, Caroline Moore, Donald “Bubba” Moore, great grandchildren: Lilly and Eleanor Padgett, and son-in-law, Karl Fogle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Colette Fogle.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday December 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Road, Hardeeville SC.
The family requests memorial donations to be made in his memory, to Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Road, Hardeeville SC 29927, or Hardeeville Marine Rescue Squadron, P.O. Box 586, Hardeeville SC 29927.
