Deloris (Niver) Stone

Deloris Niver Stone, 85, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. She was born in Savannah, GA on April 23, 1935 to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas and Louise Mason Niver.

Mrs. Deloris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she was a leader of the Young Women’s Group and a Sunday school teacher, and always had candy and a hug for the children. She also served in the LDS Temple in Atlanta, GA, Columbia, SC, and Orlando, FL. She worked as a social worker for nursing homes in the area, and for a time served on the Palmetto Electric Trust. She loved the river, water skiing, crabbing, crocheting, being a member of the Red Hat Club, and her Ladies Bridge Club.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, “Stoney” Stone; two daughters, Debbie Myrick and Stephanie Johnson; one brother, Tommy Niver; five grandchildren, Allison Jolley (Robert), Ashley Bashlor (James), April Williams (Brian), Hailey Patrick (Alan), and Justin Johnson; her niece, Mandy Wilkinson (Chuck), her nephew, Trey Niver, and other loved nieces and nephews, and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Joey Wexel and one sister, Jessie Niver Boulware.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Vaigneur Funeral Home Chapel, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am, until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service in Bluffton Cemetery, Highway 46, Bluffton, SC.
