Christine Vance

Mrs. Christine Charlotte Vance, 75, of Ridgeland, SC, formally of Wolcott, CT, passed away on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her family.  She was born on July 20, 1950, in Jersy City NJ, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Harriott Kimmish Arciom.

Mrs. Vance was a hard worker and retired from Southern New England Telephone Company after 28 years of service.  Not being one to be idle, soon after retirement she embarked on her second career.  She became a Paraprofessional for the Wolcott and Waterbury Public Schools for nearly two decades.  Mrs. Christine was a strong woman with a defining character, a big heart, and always had a smile on her face.  She was always willing to share with you what was on her mind, and that character trait served her well in her life.  She loved her Lord, and her family very much.  Her family will always remember her love and how much they meant to her.  When she had the time, she loved to look for deals with her friends when they went thrifting.  Among her hobbies she really enjoyed collecting Porcelain dolls and riding motorcycles with her Husband Tom.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom Vance; sons, Jeffrey Vance (Shannon), Tommy Vance; daughter, Bridgette Sodano (Christopher); grandchildren Emmerson Vance, Jaxon Vance, Declan Sodano, Owen Sodano; sisters, Mary Jo, Antoinette, along with nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Batters.

The family would like to thank her caregiver Holly for taking great care of her when she needed it most, and Bailey, her hospice nurse, for being there for, not just her, but the family as well.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2025, at 5:00pm, at Gillisonville Baptist Church, 10168 Grays Highway, Ridgeland SC.

There will be a visitation hour at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, CT from 10am until 11am on Friday October, 17, 2025. Burial service to follow at Woodtick Cemetery, immediately after the visitation hour.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Friends of Caroline, 329 Friends Lane, Ridgeland SC 29936.
