Christine Rose Darling (Kusy), 61, of Springfield, Georgia, passed peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2026. Born on October 6, 1964, in Canoga Park, California, Christine lived a life filled with love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.
Christine was the beloved wife and life partner of Stephen Darling for 40 years and the proud mother of Jamie Hall (Shane). She was predeceased by her cherished son, Casey James Darling, and found comfort in the thought of being reunited with him in heaven. Christine was the daughter of Jay D. Kusy and Sharon Kay Mattox and the granddaughter of Jerry and Ruth Kusy and Mariam Ridley. She is also survived by her sister Jeri Kelley (Mark) and brother Steven Kusy, as well as her nieces: Karli Kaynor, Kassi Nilsson (John), Kristi Kaynor, Kathlyn Smith (Alex), and nephews: Shane Kusy (Tanisha) and Cody Olivera, great-nieces and nephews, and her dear aunt and uncle David and Carolyn Morgan; sisters in law: Linda Darling and Sandra Williams. Christine’s love for her family was boundless; she adored her daughter and nieces and nephews, frequently reaching out to stay connected with their lives and offering her unwavering support.
Christine had a deep passion for helping others. She found immense joy in volunteering at the Rincon Pregnancy Center, where she offered prayers, guidance, and compassion to women facing unexpected pregnancies. Her dedication to this mission reflected her kind heart and steadfast faith.
Christine's love for animals was another defining aspect of her life. German Shepherds held a special place in her heart, and she cared for many throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed gardening and took pride in assisting her husband with their painting business whenever possible.
Christine’s faith journey was a cornerstone of her life. After coming to know the Lord in 2010, she embraced her faith wholeheartedly and shared the transformative power of God’s grace with others. She cherished her church home at Community Bible Church in Beaufort, SC, where she and her husband, Steve, built lasting friendships that became like family.
Christine’s adventurous spirit shone brightly in her final years. On her last birthday, she celebrated by skydiving with her daughter, Jamie, and friends—a memory that brought her immense joy. Her zest for life was matched only by her infectious laughter; she had an uncanny ability to find humor even in life’s most challenging moments.
Christine leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
A service to honor Christine's life will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, in Beaufort, SC. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service.
