Chris Sloss

     John Christopher “Chris” Sloss, 59, of Ridgeland, SC passed away on September 2, 2024. He was born on March 25, 1965, in Hampton, SC to Ms. Jean Long Sloss and the late Mr. John Walter Sloss.

     Chris had a long career in construction where he served as a superintendent overseeing multiple jobs.  He spent much of his afterhours outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a fan of NASCAR and was always a jokester. To his friends, he was known as “Slaw Dog.” He loved his family and doted on his grandkids. His family knew he was a “mama’s boy” and “the favorite.” Chris was a self-proclaimed “legend.”   

     Left to cherish his memory, along with his mother, are his wife, Sherry M. Sloss; his sons, Christopher Sloss, Corey Sloss; daughters, Shannon Lang (Scott), Caitlyn Davis (Jason); sisters, Rachel Brown (Bradley), Robin Sloss; grandchildren, Taylor Sloss, Ethan Sloss, Brynnlee Lang, Willow Davis, John Wesley Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews.

     A visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 6:00pm til 8:00pm at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00am at Vaigneur Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Ridgeland Cemetery, Hagin and Ingram Street, Ridgeland, SC.

     Reception to follow burial at Tillman Baptist Church, 66 Cotton Hill Road, Tillman, SC 29943.
