Bill Turner Obituary

Mr. William “Bill” Turner, Jr, passed away on June 9, 2026, at his home in Ridgeland, SC. He was born on April 12, 1944, to the late William Hoyt & Onita Woods Turner.

Bill was a man of simple pleasures and strong values. His work ethic was evident through his careers at Eastman Kodak and UPS. Bill was very proud to have worked for UPS for 25 years as a driver, both over the road and route delivery, without being involved in an accident.  He had a lifelong appreciation for Ford vehicles, especially trucks, and could often be found admiring a classic Ford or talking about the latest model. He also had a deep fascination with trains and never lost the wonder he felt watching them roll by.

Known for his gift of conversation, Bill never met a stranger. He was a natural storyteller whose tales could entertain family and friends for hours. Whether recounting memories from years gone by or sharing humorous observations about everyday life, he had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and connected.

One of his greatest joys was caring for his yard. He took pride in beautifying his surroundings, spending countless hours tending to flowers, shrubs, and landscaping projects. His home reflected the care and attention he gave to everything he loved.

Above all else, he was devoted to his family and his church family at Crossroads Christian Church. He cherished every gathering, celebration, and opportunity to spend time with those he loved. His family was the center of his world, and his love for his Savior was evident through his actions and words.

He will be remembered for his warm heart, hardworking spirit, endless conversations, and unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the stories he shared will continue to bring comfort and smiles for generations to come.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Camille Saxon Turner; sons, Randy (Pamalla Kuzminski) and Jeffrey (Zhanna); brother, Ronnie Turner (Beverly); nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy, and his son, Kenny.

The family invites those who knew and loved him to remember him whenever they hear a train whistle in the distance, see a well-kept yard in bloom, or share a good story with family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday June 12, 2026 at 4:00pm at Crossroads Christian Church, 7382 West Main Street, Ridgeland SC. The family will receive guest starting at 3:00pm until the hour of service. Burial will be Sunday morning June 14, 2026 at 9:30am in Ridgeland Cemetery, Ingram Street, Ridgeland, SC.
