Betty (Murphy) Scott

Betty Murphy Scott, 93, of Hardeeville SC, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 28, 1930, in Charleston, SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Matilda Cooler Murphy.

Ms. Betty was an accomplished seamstress. She loved being outdoors and tending her flowers. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Tom Scott, Jr. (Cindy), Clyde Scott (Marcy), Jimmy Scott (Gina), Wayne Murphy (Jackie), daughters; Teresa Hope (Jerry), Tracy Fialkowski, Tillie Keiffer, sister, Margie Lipham, daughter-in-law, Sue Scott, sister in law, Betty Murphy, 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Scott Sr., son, Glenn Scott, grandsons, Brad Keiffer, Grady Malphrus, and brothers, Robert Murphy, Ronnie Murphy and sister, Frances Bailey.

A funeral service will be held at Vaigneur Funeral Home , 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:00 am. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home until the hour of the service. Burial will follow in the Purrysburg Cemetery, Purrysburg Road, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
