Betty Louise (Hodges) Miles

Betty Louise Hodges Miles, 83, of Tillman SC, passed away on January 23, 2024.  She was born on March 16, 1940, in Ridgeland SC, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady and Mattie Hodges.

Mrs. Miles retired from the Jasper County School District, where she worked in the lunchroom.  She was a member of Tillman Baptist Church and throughout the years served in many different positions.  Being involved was important to her.  She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteering in the community when she could.  Her caring heart was evident. Her home was open to many children daily throughout her life. Family was an important part of her life and she will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: James Miles (Knola), Robin McMillan (Newton), brothers: James Hodges (Emmy), Mike Hodges, Sisters: Rose Daring (Joe), Ann Woods (Hiram Norby), sister-in-law, Margaret Hodges, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband James “JV” Miles and four brothers.   

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 26, 2024, at 4:00 pm, at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland SC.  The family will receive friends at 3:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, 9009 Tarboro Road, Ridgeland SC.
