Betty O'Neal Childers

     Betty Childers, 88, of Hilton Head Island, SC (formerly of Orangeburg, SC) passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023. She was born on May 11, 1935, in Hawkinsville, GA to the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Willard Ethridge, Sr. and Cora Lee Fellows Ethridge.

     Betty was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church, where she joyfully sang in the choir and held various positions over the years. Ms. Childers worked in Senior Care for many years.

     Betty was a devout Christian. She was a true and treasured friend to many.

     Left to cherish her memory are one son, Ronald O’Neal; two daughters, Becky Holton (Russell), Sandy Jones; two sisters, Gerry Watts, Sara Mayson; one sister in law, Charlotte Ethridge; and one brother in law, Jimmy Flynn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Childers; one son, Mickey O’Neal; one brother, Ben Ethridge, and one sister, Vicki Flynn.

     A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 2720 Broughton St., Orangeburg, SC  29115.
