Barney Ray Black Jr

Barney Ray Black, Jr., 37, of Hardeeville SC, entered into peace on October 26, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Savannah GA, on April 17, 1986, to Mr. Barney Black and the late Mrs. Rosemary Simmons Black.

“Little Barney” was raised in Toomerville and Levy SC. He had a passion for helping people in the darkest moments of their life. After the loss of his mother, he took on a role to save females that were lost. He gave all he had to make others’ lives better. Although he had dreams of his own of becoming a preacher, he put those aside to help others.

He loved working on projects making old things new again. He also loved rescuing Pit Bulls that had been mistreated. He brought each dog back to life and protected them by giving them a place to live. “Little Barney” loved dressing in fashion and was “crazy” over hats and shoes. One of his favorite past-times was jumping in his truck and listening to music while he rode around; he always said it was his therapy. He also liked to spend time riding with his dad, just the two of them. Spending time with his sister and all of his nieces and nephews gave him time to teach them something new. Friends were important to him and cherished the time they had together. “Little Barney” was many things to many people and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Barney Black, sister, Pam Black, nieces: Tiffany Jones, Stormy Trout, Summer Brown and nephew, Joseph Jones, several aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends. Preceding him in death was his mother, Rosemary Simmons Black, grandparents: George and Mary Simmons, Barbara Saxson and George Black, sister Tiffany Black and several other family members.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday November 8, 2023, at 5:00 pm at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road Ridgeland SC 29936. The family will receive guests from 4:00 pm until the hour of the service.
