Barbara Berkshire

     Ms. Barbara Lynn Berkshire, 70, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Candler hospital in Savannah, GA. Barbara was born on May 27, 1948 in Canton, OH to Billy and Georgianna Dohner Berkshire.

     Ms. Berkshire was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and the owner of Country Morning Bakery in Ridgeland, SC for thirteen years. She worked in her family’s business, Johnnie’s Bakery of Canton, OH before moving to South Carolina and opening Country Morning Bakery with her daughter.  Barbara was a Graduate of Lincoln High School and loved gardening and tending to her animals at home.  She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she adored her grandchildren.

     Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Georgianna Berkshire; one daughter, Chelsea Brendlen (Barry); two brothers, Bill Berkshire (Paula) and Jim Berkshire (Cathy); two sisters, Kandy Hess and Charlene Warstler (Bill Ludwig); three grandchildren, Ashley Brendlen (Bill Hiers), Allison Brendlen (Emily Bennett) and Johnny Brendlen; one great granddaughter, Grace Hiers; lifelong companion, Diane Ackerman, and a host of nieces and nephews  She was predeceased by an infant sister and her brother-in-law, Damon Warstler.

     A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Vaigneur Funeral Home, 6802 Tillman Road, Ridgeland, SC.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 7488 West Main Street, Ridgeland, SC.

     Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN  38148-0142.
