Andy Miles Obituary

Wilton Anthony "Andy" Miles, affectionately known as "Mule" and "MacGyver," passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center with his children by his side. He was born on December 21, 1962, to Vera Nettles Miles and Wilton Angresh Miles.

Andy earned the nickname "Mule" because of his stubborn determination, while "MacGyver" perfectly described his remarkable ability to fix absolutely anything. If something was broken, Andy could find a way to make it work. His ingenuity, resourcefulness, and willingness to help others became hallmarks of his character and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Andy dedicated more than 30 years of service to BJWSA, where he built a respected career and retired as a Field Operator II. Retirement did not slow him down. True to his hardworking nature, he immediately returned to work, helping others with small jobs, operating heavy equipment for Trey Lowther, and continuing to do what he loved until the end of his earthly journey. His final employment was with the Rivers Family at LWB Enterprises, where he remained a valued and trusted member of the team.

Andy was a man who believed in hard work, helping others, and finding solutions where others saw problems. Whether repairing equipment, lending a hand to a friend, or tackling a difficult project, he approached every task with determination, skill, and pride. His strong work ethic, sense of humor, and generous heart touched countless lives.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Wilton Angresh Miles; his brother, Scottie Eugene Miles; and his niece, Baby Girl Key.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Vera Nettles Miles; his sister, Audrey Miles Key; his children, Brandi Miles, Daniel Miles, Scottie Miles (Michelle), and Cecelia Miles; and Ashley Benton Hess (Brandon), who was loved like a daughter. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Makayla, Ryan, Rileigh, Peyten, Alleigh, Kaydee, Maddox, Eli, Skylar, Scottie Jr. "SJ," and William "Willie." He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Maleyia and Alivia, and a special nephew Josh Ramsey. Andy also leaves behind his daily sidekick and extra set of hands whenever needed, Terry Keith, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss his presence, friendship, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Though Andy's hands have been laid to rest, the things he built, repaired, and the lives he touched will remain as a testament to the man he was. His legacy of hard work, determination, kindness, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Andy will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and lovingly carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

"If love alone could have saved him, he would have lived forever."
