Harvey Alvin Dobson, Jr., 64, of Savannah, GA passed away February 8, 2018 at Savannah Hospice. Mr. Dobson was born July 21, 1953 in Varnville, SC to the late Harvey A. and Mary Tuten Dobson.
Alvin was the owner of Sand Hill Logging and Timber and was a self- employed timber harvester for 40 years. He loved working in the woods and spending time outdoors, was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed any activity that included automobiles, boating or the river. Beach music and shagging were favorite past times and Alvin was always the “Life of the Party”; he was known and loved by all. Even after leaving Luray to pursue his career, he never lost touch with his home town, that was so dear to his heart.
Surviving Mr. Dobson is his wife, Kim Dobson, and one sister, Rose D. Elliott.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Luray Christian Church, 90 Fitts Street, Luray, SC.
