Roy Harding, Jr.

     Roy Denver Harding, Jr.,79, of Ridgeland, SC passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at NHC in Bluffton, SC.  He was born on December 28, 1939 in Charleston, WV to the late Roy Denver and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Harding.

     Mr. Harding was a retired maintenance mechanic for Olin Chemical and served as a policeman in Cleveland, OH. During his United States Marine Corps career, he served as a sniper in Vietnam, a military policeman, and as a gunner on a U.S. Navy ship. He loved restoring antiques and building anything with wood.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

     Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Buddy Harding and Travis Harding (Cassie); one daughter, Debbie Lambert; one brother, Charles Atkins; one sister, Brenda Atkins Miller (Walt); six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

      A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC.
